Soloman Almadi holds a PhD in simulation and computing from Brunel University, UK and M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Southern Methodist University, USA. and B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Texas, USA. He is an inventor with several patents, has published several IEEE and SPE technical papers in networking, system automations, substation, computing, simulations, and Intelligent Field, and active member of ISA.

Mr. Kinsley is currently working in Saudi Aramco central engineering offices and is responsible for design and specification of various automation systems; such as: DCS, ESD, SCADA, RTU and CCS.

Dr. Muhammad Faizan Mysorewala

Muhammad Mysorewala, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Control and Instrumentation Systems Engineering at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. He completed his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington, USA in 2008. His main areas of interest are intelligent control, sampling strategies and estimation, in robotics and sensor networks. Dr. Mysorewala has been involved in several research projects at KFUPM, and published numerous articles in international conferences and journals, as well as co-authored a book. Dr. Mysorewala is the member of IEEE and reviewer of several international journals.

Nujood Almulla is a mechanical engineering who graduated from the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom with a BEng Honours degree. She is specialized in energy systems modelling where her previous experience includes working on engine combustion research and performing transport life cycle assessments under the Fuel Technology, Research & Development Center as well as developing an emission and energy consumption monitoring system for transport large transportation fleets under the Energy Systems Division in Saudi Aramco. Nujood was also part of the Young Leaders Advisory Board (YLAB), course representative and engineering ambassador.

Dr. Moustafa Elshafei is an Adjunct Professor of Control and Instrumentation Systems Engineering, at KFUPM. He obtained his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from McGill University in 1982 (Dean List), Canada. Since then he has accumulated over 24 years of academic experience and 9 years of industrial experience. He is inventor/co-inventor of 20 USA and international patents, Author/Co-author of 5 books, and published over 170 articles in international journals and professional conferences in the fields of intelligent instrumentation, digital signal processing, artificial intelligence, and industrial control/ automation systems. Dr. Elshafei has been involved in many projects at KFUPM, supported by KFUPM, Saudi ARAMACO, SABIC, YOKOGAWA, KACST, Department of Civil Defense, and NSTIP, and was a visiting professor at MIT in 2010. Dr. Elshafei is a member of IEEE and SPE

Dr. Vaqar worked as an Electrical Engineer with Ministry of Electricity Kuwait for three years before joining Systems Engineering Department. He did his masters in Automation and Controls from KFUPM in 1996 and served as a senior lecturer until 2004. He obtained his PhD from University of Waterloo, Canada in 2010 where he was also awarded the prestigious NSERC scholarship for two years. His research areas are protocol development for infrastructure-less situations. He is also interested in machine learning and data mining operation. Dr. Vaqar also has extensive experience with embedded system design and development.

Syed Nisar is a qualified Instrumentation Engineer who started his career as a Control Valve Engineer before moving to a valve manufacturing company where he worked till he joined Saudi Aramco in December, 2011. He has a bachelor of engineering in Instrumentation and a Graduate diploma in Robotics & Automation from Australia. In Saudi Aramco, Syed Nisar was the Chairman of the Instrumentation Standards Committee for a period of 5 years, and during this time he was instrumental in optimizing the engineering requirements, whilst promoting new technologies and was eventually awarded the 2016 CEO Excellence Award.

Dr. Sami El Ferik: Associate Professor in Control and Instrumentation, Department of Systems Engineering, at KFUPM. He obtained his B.Sc in Electrical Engineering from Laval University, Quebec, Canada, and M.S and Ph.D both in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique, University of Montreal, Montreal, Canada. His
Ph.D. work, on flexible manufacturing systems modeling and control, was co-supervised with Mechanical Engineering. After completion of his Ph.D and Post-doctor positions, he worked with Pratt and Whitney Canada as a Staff Control Analyst at the Research and Development Center of Systems, Controls, and Accessories. His research interests are in sensing, monitoring, and control with strong multidisciplinary research and applications. His research contributions are in control of drug administration, process control and control loop performance monitoring, control of systems with delays, modeling and control of stochastic systems, analysis of network stability, condition monitoring and condition-based maintenance.

She is currently working as Electrical Engineer in Saudi Aramco, Power Systems Engineering Department, Smart Grid and Automation Unit. She delivered a technical presentation in Saudi Arabia Smart Gird Conference 2016 on Optimized Substation Automation. Maha has 3 years of service in Saudi Aramco, mainly on Power Systems Automation and SCADA.

Harun Pirim received his Ph.D. degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) from Mississippi State University in May 2011. He holds Operations Research MA and Industrial Engineering BS degrees from Dokuz Eylul University, Turkey. Harun worked on microarray data analysis in collaboration with Computer Science and Forestry departments. He recently developed a minimum spanning tree based algorithm and a mixed integer programming model for clustering applications. His research interests include mathematical programming and heuristic applications in biology, sociology, and supply chain fields focusing mainly on graph mining. He has published several papers and book chapters.

Faisal Talal Al-Askandrani was born in Khobar, Saudi Arabia in 1984. In 2002, he Graduated from Dahran Ahlia School and received a full scholarship from Saudi Aramco to pursue his undergrad education. In 2008, he earned his undergraduate degree from the University of New Branswick, Canada. Al-Askandrani received a Bachelor of Computer science majoring in Information System and a Minor in Business Administration. During his undergraduate degree he was hired by the university as a Java Tutor.

Due to his outstanding efforts in the Shamoon malware Cyber-attack that targeted the company’s operations. Al-Askandrani was awarded a Full scholarship to pursue his master. In December 2015 Al-Askandrani gradated first of his class with a degree in Cyber forensic at Purdue University. His main research focus is in the areas of security and networking, risks, mitigations, strategic infrastructure development, policy making in relation to the Supervisory Control, And Data Acquisition Systems (SCADA) with the world wide convergence of networks trend. Al-Askandrani was Nominated to be the first Saudi Vice President and President to the Cyber Forensic Club at Purdue University.

Al-Askandrani co-authored a two studies, the first was “Intelligent Field Converged IP Network for Semi-Real Hydrocarbon Process Automation Applications (HPAA) Case Study,” that was presented in December 18-22, 2010 at the IEEE International Energy Conference, Manama, Bahrain. the second research was a technical paper Titled “INVISIBLE ATTACKS” in November 2013. His Master Theses was titeld “A Threat Intelligence Framework For Access Control Security In The Oil Industry” in Dec 2015.

Hany Osman is an assistant professor at College of Computer Sciences and Engineering, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in KSA. He earned the PhD degree from Concordia University, Canada. His research interests are operations research, operations management and Logical analysis of data. Specifically, his research focuses on investigating problems related to scheduling, configurations, inventory management, transfer line balancing and knowledge extraction from datasets. Rayan Hafiz is an engineering specialist working at the Engineering Services of Saudi Aramco. Currently, he is a leading member of the Information Technology and Operation Technology (IT/OT) Transformation team and advanced analytics SME. Graduated with BSc in Systems Engineering from King Fahd University and MSc in Systems and Entrepreneurial Engineering from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He was the first member to earn INFORMS Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) in the MENA regain in 2014. Rayan trained more than 500 professionals on the foundations of decision analysis at Aramco’s Processional Engineering Development program.

Majid Al-Gwaiz has been working in Saudi Aramco since 2001. He holds a Bachelors degrees in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics from Vanderbilt University, A Masters degree in Operations Research from Cornell University, and a PhD. in Operations Research from The University of Michigan. Majid also teaches a graduate Probabilities course at KFUPM on a part time basis. Since joining Saudi Aramco, Majid has worked in the Mechanical Services Shops Department, the Consulting Services Department, Ras Tanura Refinery, and the Process and Control Systems Department. Majid is currently leading Saudi Aramco’s IT/OT program which addresses the fourth industrial revolution and Saudi Aramco’s digital transformation. Majid is the Author of several research papers, a book chapter, and three patents.

Dr. Cheded holds a BS (Honors, 1975) in Physics, MS (Salford, UK, 1979) in Control and PhD in Signal Processing (Univ of Manchester(UoM), 1988,UK). He taught Physics and was a research assistant (1981-1984) at UoM. He joined SE Dept. at KFUPM in September 1984 and served on its faculty until 31 Aug. 2017. His research interests include signal processing and its applications, control, estimation, condition monitoring and fault detection, and communication. He published numerous papers, a book (2010), 2 book chapters, holds 2 US patents and filed 3 others, and conducted several funded research projects. He chaired several academic committees, including ABET and NCAAA, developed new courses, a DSP lab and short courses, and was a reviewer for various journals/conferences and grant-awarding institutions. He served on the editorial boards of the journals IJEEE and CDSR and on the organizing committees of SISC, ISSPA and CDSR. He won a scholarship from the Algerian government in 1975, best academic advisor in 1994 and was elevated to the position of IEEE Senior member in 2003.
